In the year 1973, the 21 full 1 offshore race boat called “Untouchable” race No 178 was built by boat builder Connelly in Australia. Originally, the “Untouchable” was equipped with two Mercury outboard engines.
Later, the “Untouchable” was converted with a super-powered Lamborghini 4-stroke petrol inboard engine with reverse gear and 12 cylinders (Lamborghini Miura), built custom-made by the legendary Lamborghini Aqua division . Its power output is a whopping 1,200 HP This powerful engine achieved a high speed of 268 km per hour on the water with water skier Carlo Cassa behind it on a mono ski. A world record, before this sport was ended because of the risks.
The boat has a separate computer with a programmable ECU. At maximum power it can cruise for 24 hours, after which overhaul is necessary.
The Untouchable is equipped with a handmade 5-screw propeller, hydraulic flaps for trimming and a foot throttle.
The boat has since become a real collectors’ item. No less than multiple European champion and winner of the Diamond race in 1998, Italian Carlo Cassa has won many water-ski races with this boat. Besides the famous Carlo Cassa, more water-ski racers have used this beautiful boat, including Austria’s Katharina Hebenstreit (2010 European champion) and Formula 1 water-ski racer Tim Lewalter.
